The Australian Institute of Polish Affairs (AIPA) warmly invites you to a special evening with journalist and author Anthony Sharwood, who will discuss his acclaimed book Kosciuszko: The Incredible Life of the Man Behind the Mountain.
In this fascinating presentation, Anthony Sharwood will explore the extraordinary life of Tadeusz Kościuszko, freedom fighter, military engineer, and national hero of Poland, the United States, and beyond, whose legacy lives on in Australia’s highest mountain.
The talk will be accompanied by pictures of Sharwood’s travels, including images from his December 2025 trip to Poland, when he was awarded third prize in the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ global history book competition.
Should Kosciuszko’s name stay on the mountain? Sharwood says yes, and he invites you to join him to hear why!
WHEN: Thursday, 11 June, 2026 at 6.00 pm
WHERE: Armagh House, 226 Kooyong Road, Toorak, 3142
DONATION: $20 (to help us recover some cost of the venue hire)
REFRESHMENTS will be served.
Some of us will go to dinner with Anthony after the talk. If you wish to join, please message me privately.
Warm regards,
Dr Alexandra Margaret Dunwill
