Our Melbourne branch recently hosted an exclusive dinner with Tim Wilson MP, Shadow Treasurer and Federal Member for Goldstein. The evening took place at the elegant Sandringham Yacht Club, providing an excellent setting for a thoughtful exchange of opinions and networking. It was an invitation-only event.
Tim Wilson made national headlines as the only Liberal candidate to reclaim a seat from a “teal” independent, winning back Goldstein after his 2022 loss to Zoe Daniel. He has recently been appointed Shadow Treasurer by Opposition Leader Angus Taylor. Widely regarded as representing a younger generation within the Liberal Party, Tim is often described as progressive and centre-oriented. He is openly gay and married and has been a longstanding advocate for economic reform and individual liberty. Tim has been a long-time friend of the Polish and Jewish communities in Melbourne.

AIPA has long maintained constructive relationships with Australian parliamentarians across the political spectrum. While Board-level meetings with Members of Parliament have occurred in the past, they have not typically been open to our broader membership. In 2026, we are pleased to offer members the opportunity to participate directly in such engagements. To maintain the balance, another event, featuring a representative from the Labour Party, will follow later in the year.
